If not. I think it is tumblr.
It has a couple of things that could be improved (search engine please!) But all in all, it beats blogger in terms of... I don't know I just hate blogger xD

Once again Illustrator, trying a photographic approach. It's more time consuming, but doesn't require much creativity... just copy what you see... :S
It took several weeks!! DX
I was later playing with the colors to make something fun / interesting / crazy, but it's not really working... aah need more color expertice.

This was a request made by blackdog, and it took me a lot of time!
...and it is very different from what he requested .. SORRY! >_<¡

I accept more vector requests, but you should know I always take requests as starting points and the outcome will be very different from what you have in mind... actually this drawing is very different from what I had in mind xD

Everybody were really happy and grateful for Yusuke's kindness towards us. Being a person so close to YUI, you would expect him to be more distant when it comes to interact with fans.

But we were surprised when he showed himself so concerned about our birthday present to YUI.
I was almost completely sure the present got lost after the earthquake's confussion. Even Hisashi -who even talked about last year's present in his radio show- wouldn't reply our messages, so I was about to give up on the subject. But since I have always distrusted Icchy, I had to find a way around him to confirm the present's whereabouts.

The timing was perfect. Icchy was in Hong Kong making arrangements for the -at that time yet unknown- concert YUI will hold this month over there. And I recalled a contact email in honeybee's website. I wasn't sure, but I had the feeling that it would be Yusuke the person in charge of dealing with those emails. So I gave it a try.

The next step wouldn't had been possible without the help of azmikun and hirotana. Yusuke must have tought: "This gaijin can really speak japanese!" But no. The brightest side of globalism made this possible. When I was sleeping, these guys were translating my messages with Yusuke back and forth. Thank you!

Finally, the present "appeared", and a couple of days after, YUI was holding our CD in her hands for everyone to see.

After the raffle in aid to Japan, PWRTSM and MrSean won the two copies we put up for the contest, and Panda decided to give his copy to Yusuke in gratitude to his effort.

I don't remember if it was my idea or someone else's, but I thought it would be nice if I included a little cartonish portrait along with the CD. So I made this drawing:

And I didn't sign it, on purpose. I'm still affraid that any kind of info related to me or to YUPI-Locks will automatically be banned from being published. But I'm 100% okay with that.

Gotchi later wrote a letter -again, trasnlated by hirotana- explaining Yusuke the reason of this present to him and also telling him we raised money for Japan.
And the package was sent...

HTT Rolling Star Claimed by Sony... and other rants

After working so hard to make this video, and writting a bunch of good arguments about why this video was made to SUPPORT and PROMOTE YUI instead of making profit for myself, it was finally claimed by Sony.

I can't believe how narrow-minded these people are. YUI could be so much greater if Sony could accept the fact that they don't live in the 90's anymore. Youtube is there. All big artists use it, and millions of people have acces to their beloved artists.

Sony instead, keep everything to themselves.

Recent example: HELLO ~Paradise Kiss~ Limited Edition DVD:

We have It's My Life PV in HIGH DEFINITION. Why should I bother to buy that shit?!!
Next single will come with a blank DVD... It can't get any worse than this.
(I did buy it tho)

What about Live in the Dark? Jasmine and Shota included it in their works I believe.
What about It's My Life making off? HELLO Making off?? e.u.Band's trip??? Now you don't even upload these material to GyaO anymore, and Mezamashi TV reports are shorter and shorter.

What are you fucking thinking? How this can possibly help YUI's career in any way?
All this looks more like a boycott against YUI.

Not to mention MY WALKMAN PLAYLIST...
They promoted it as a LIVE broadcast. It wasn't. It was poorly edited. At some parts video went off, at others the audio was out of synchronization!!! I mean COME ON!! Aren't they professionals??

It really looks like they try their best to take as much money as they can with the lesser effort possible. Or even worse, doing things wrong on purpose.
And don't make me start with that Maritime Square scam. If YUI doesn't sing at least three songs, even the blindest fan will rage after all that money they wasted.

YUI deserves a lot more than this. Her songs are better and better. YOU is completely beautiful. I'm sure this single will be a success. But it could be so much more if Sony stopped being so stupid in their management poilcies.

I saw this today and it really surprised me

I read the news everyday to know about the condition of your people. It looks like some locations near the nuclear plant are having a lot of hardships, not to mention the area struck by the tsunami.
This dissaster saddens me in great degree.

I'm sorry that I can't write in Japanese yet. But to my dear readers in Japan, and specially to my readers in Fukushima and the region of Tohoku,

Chile and Japan share a couple of things. One of them is... earthquakes and tsunamis!
Last year we had a similar disaster over here, and we are still working to fully recover from the damage. You can still see the cracks in the wall of my old house, as a reminder of how vulnerable we are against the force of nature.

We also share another thing. And that is courage to overcome troubling times.
Japan will rise as we did!

To all my readers in Japan, although there is not much that I can do to help, my thoughts are with you. Also my prayers... and maybe some money xD

I had another design first, but Gotchi convinced me it was crap xD So I decided to put a lot of love and make an illustration. I did this artwork inspired in the art of Alphonse Mucha.
I used Corel Painter, Illustrator and Photoshop!

About 50 people joined this time! I'm happy that even fans from Japan joined with their talents and even support with $$$!
This time we where thinking of doing something bigger, so we will send the CDs to YUI, to Hisashi and to the members of e.u.Band!

UPDATES!
* According to Japan Post, the package arrived on March 15th ... only 4 days after the big earthquake... Hisashi later posted pictures of how messy was his studio after the incident.

This was posted the 16th. So my biggest fear is that our box ended up in the trash with many other presents... >__<

*April 1st
I sent messages to everyone asking whether they saw the package or not. The only kind enough to reply was Backy:

The truth is that I haven't received the CD yet...
Maybe it's becasue we haven't met with YUI's manager recently?
But I listened to it completely!
I downloaded it from YUI-Lover website (laughs)
Everybody were splendid!

Oh well I really wasn't expecting Backy to tell me that he actually visits YUI-Lover giving me enough reasons to believe that, not only him, but even YUI does visit fucking YUI-lover in her free time!!!!!!!!1 AWESOME!

....... BUT!

He didn't know we sent a copy to him, even though we saw e.u.Band and YUI meeting for rehearsal one week or so after the earthquake and a second time for a recording (After her birthday) AND a big business meeting with BOSS and everyone else, wich makes me feel like this present is already part of the past... T.T
The only hope I have now is the next time they meet, Backy will remember my message and make a comment about the present.
I just want them to say "Hey! thanks for the present!" I dont need pictures or anything.. cmon! I'm not asking much!

Final Update May 18th

Oh well.. reading the entry, I remember I was feeling really hopeless back then!
But everything went so well that I still cant believe how epic it was.

To put it short. I sent an email to Yuusuke (e.u.Band's manager) to ask him if he knew something. After telling me he never saw the present, we thought everything was lost. But one day after, he sent a picture of one of our CDs!
The explanation of how he found it was rather strange and I really don't understant why our present was lying there somewhere without anyone attempting to open it.
My theory is still that Icchy is the bad guy somehow. But at the time I wrote to Yusuke, he was in Hong Kong. Perfect timming.

After that, joy.

Maimai and Kuro-chan posted pictures also.
And about one month later, Backy showed hs copy on a secret live broadcast. Unfortunately nobody recorded it!.
To the date, Hisashi and Arisa never spoke of the subject. But what matter is that YUI is holding our CD in her hand! I never thought we could achieve something like this.

Haven't watched TRON yet! But I loved the soundtrack (although it sounds a little like "Inception - electronic mix" lol), and while I was working on my animation I thought of trying something with this song :O

Youtube's automatic system of hell deleted the music automatically, so I had to replace it with another random track using Audio Swap. I hope facebook embedded video works, otherwise you will have to watch the 'legal' version in youtube.

Beethoven sounds good IMHO, but I worked a lot synchronizing the video to Daft Punk = =

I've been taking things 'in my own pace' since I finished the video. I'm pretending to go back to YUPI soon, but maybe I need a little more motivation from readers :P

New Year Entry

Hello, It's new year and everybody is writting new year entries. I don't want to.. xD

This year I failed at getting a scholarship to study Master in Design in Japan. It was a pretty bad experience lol

But the rest is all good I think? Especially with things involving my own personal projects.

* I finished YUPI LOCKS! Vol.1 and sent 2 copies to Hisashi and one copy to YUI. Never got any replies, but I'm OK with that. YUPI travels is one of the projects that I love the most. Thank you everybody!!!

* YUIkipedia started this year too I think? I trust it will keep growning =. =

* We made Shake My Heart collaboration and YUI played our song in radio. Epic awesome. (Backy sent me a comment about it on twitter. Awesomex2 )

* I started this "We want a LIVE DVD" Campaign at YUI-Lover. Many other communities joined as well, and we spammed YUI-net asking for the long awaited live DVD. Finally, the information was leaked. we are getting the DVD in March.
Was all this campaign the cause? Would we have a DVD even if we didn't ask for it so eagerly? I guess we'll never now.

* Finally, I made Rolling Star PV in MikuMikuDance software and became a big success in nico nico douga. I really wasn't expecting that!

I love those flying comments! A guy even wrote down all the lyrics in there. xD

Yes, my life spins around YUI. How long is that gonna be? time will tell.

I think "a room" is one of the best songs YUI have made in a long time. I think it's even better than any song from HITS. It went straight through my soul.

I'm sorry for the lack of updates, but I don't wanna reveal much of the latest advances.

I don't know why everytime I export media from MMD, the video is a couple of frames shorter than the original footage. Even though I make the animation completely based on the original!
It's very annoying because this means I'll have to re adjust every single sequence in After Effects to be able to synchronize with the audio properly.

At the end, I took some models from 3D Warehouse and exported them from Sketchup to MMD with some kickass plugin. So happy! xD

The problem is that these models don't have the correct proportions..or something. So a couple of adjustments are needed. Gonna try Sketchup tomorrow.

Maybe the main reason I had to pick Rolling Star PV for this project is that it has a very simple shooting set. Otherwise I would also had to focus on backgrounds, look everywhere for tons of models or even draw every background in 2D myself. But in this case it's just some carpets and amps.
For the carpets I used a program called MMD Paint Tool. Very usefull!
All these elements are attached to dummy bones so I can move then around at will.
Finally something that comes out easily lol.

(Yes I have an HD monitor ;P )

Okay, after raging for a couple of minutes for the deletion of some of my vids by MrSorny's minions, I chilled...and... thats all.... LOL

These preview videos doesnt really matter, what makes me mad is the fact that they have their eyes fixed on my account ready to fire after any microscopical atempt of violating their rights.

I know I will never be able to post the final video on youtube, Vimeo or devianART becasue it will still contain the original song and they will not stop until having my head on a silver plate. But I really dont care because I have precautionary countermeasures ready to be set when the project is ready. fufufufufcky Sony.

This part was made in After Effects 7. Its just a test. still needs adjustements and stuff.
My very first AF footage so don't expect much.

I'm loving after effects..maybe I should focus my career in motion graphics~~~

Uhmm I dont remember exactly the day I started this, but the video RS 01 is dated september 26th. So it's been about a month since I started this thing and I'm not even half way through!.

I'm really hoping I can finish this before xmass. I want to go back to YUPI.

Okay so, today I realized that the stupid program loads the reference video about 20 pixels below the point 0x0 so I need to move everything 20 pixels up after I finish the animations... or just leave it that way....i dont think it will make any diff afterwards.

The original video was 3:4 and those black parts screwed everything up...argg

Yes it has no audio yet because it's just the animation process!

Hello everyones! the weather have turned for the worse the past two days but it looks like summer will finally appear with all its might next week.
In Chile everybody is talking about the miners being rescued and if you turn on the TV all you can see is miners, miners, miners! I'm one of those few who can't stand it anymore lol

I'm happy for them. And It was awesome to see that my country did A GOOD JOB for a change xD

Maybe the most amusing was Michael Moore complementing the goverment on Larry King's show (gringos are raging for this lol)
I mean, they did help us with some technical supervision. I wonder why they can't solve their own problems having brilliant minds like the ones who came down here.

Miku Miku Dance

Ok I'll show you some pics of what i've been doing the past few weeks and that it's driving me crazy.

This is Miku Miku Dance's interface. It takes elements from regular 3D animation and other softwares like Anime Studio and Flash to make a very optimized program specially made for character animation.

This is my failed attempt to make a YUPI-like character for MMD. There is another program called PMD Editor made to edit and set up 3D models previously made in tradicional programas like Blender or Maya. The biggest issue is that the program is in Japanese only and there are very few and hard-for-me to understand tutorials. So after I struggled for two days to make something I decided to leave this part for the distant future.

This is when I decided to use K-ON! characters to make a YUI PV. Maybe after I make this I will get enough attention to find a MMD modeling expert to make me a YUPI model... that's my hope.

If is around here a MMD enthusiast I NEED HEADPHONES. I have found all the accesories I need. Even this little pick that I customized and that I'm showing here because you will never notice this detail in the final video.

The final goal is to make a full Rolling star PV completely in 3D.
That means I need to make animations for all the band. Im hoping to finish this before xmas LOL

How to make your own poster frame and not losing a finger in the process

Ok here it goes my tutorial for you, poor and sad people like me who don't have money to buy big, heavy, and expensive frames to hang your beautiful YUI posters.
Follow these steps and you will not make the stupid errors I commited in my latest 2 attempts.
Note: this could work for non-YUI posters, but I haven't tried so I'm not sure xD

Materials!

I got most of this materials on a stationery / office supply store and a hardware store. Pretty cheap stuff! maybe the most expensive is the cutting surface (40 bucks!!) but you can replace it with another cardboard or use an old table (don't use your cat!)

Don't forget to ask for corrugated cardboard DOUBLE (1 USD?). I bought simple because I forgot and I'm stupid... it's a little bit too thin =__=u

Here I mark the limits of the invisible plastic sheet LOL (2~ bucks). In spanish it's called "Mica" I don't know if that works in english too...

Unfold the poster and put it under the cardboard and a lot of boxes and stuffs to press and make it plane. DON'T ROLL IT THE OTHER WAY! That could damage the paper.
(Notice the box of my new Bamboo tablet ehem ehem xD)

Paste the poster to the cardboard. Yes, masking tape is made to paste paper and then stick it out without damaging it, so its SAFE (Kinda). If you are unsure, play with it with your fingers to remove some of the glue. This is just to ensure that the poster won't displace down once hanged, so you'll just need a couple (I used 6 or 7 tiny ones.)

Cut the borders of the cardboard. Leave a margin of 0.7 - 1 cm. per side (1cm+ on the top recommended).
I recommend metalic rule + cutter for this step. You could use scissors, if you're an expert scissorist (?) xD But as for me, this is the best technique. Just press the ruler agaisnt the cardboard and fiuuuuuu, you will get clean and straight cuts.
Watch your fingers!

Now unfold the plastic over the poster. This time it came with a regular paper to protect it... sometimes it doesn't, so try not to touch it too much, because of the STATIC! It can be a real problem when dust starts getting in your way between the plastic and the poster...ugghh.

Attach some paper clips to keep everything together (I have no idea how are these called... just check the picture -__- )

Now flip everything and cut the plastic. Watch out fingers...I MEAN IT!!
(My other hand should be pressing the rule, but I have two hands and I needed to take the picture ;D )

It's OK if you cut a trip of cardboard on the way. This way you ensure the two materials will coincide.

Flip again and start removing the paper protection, if any, and prepare the electric tape because we will seal the poster forever xD

Press gradually as the picture shows.

I recommend to leave a couple of milimeters of margin between the tape and the poster. Because that's Kikino Style!

Paste only a half over the border of the plastic surface and leave the rest hanging in the air for now.

Leave some extra tape passing the frame limits as well.

Now fold the tape wrapping everything. tehee!

Cut this part..maybe the picture is not clear enough, but when you do it, you will know.
That scissor is ment for nails but it does a hell of a job when working on these details lol

Fold the tape remaining at the side. See? ...ok bad explanation I know!

Add more tape at the back. Specially if you live in those infernal weather countries of south east Asia lol, heat and humidity..not good. You might need to do maintenance check from time to time.

Add this unknown-name clip in the upper center of the frame. (This is why you need double cardboad =__= ) Maybe you can find a better way to hang the frame. I'll leave that to your imagination.

Hang and kiss your poster (optional)

I have never cut myself with a cutter, but I have some friends who lost massive amounts of blood for not paying enough attention so be careful!!

Let's see if there is at least one crazy fan to do this, beside me. XD

Sorry for the lack of updates u.u Past two weeks I worked on a very special project.
Since they asked to send covers to YUI LOCKS, I thought it would be great to do something together with the members of YUI-Lover community. I really wasn't expecting more than a simple compilation of nice covers, but things went out of control! (again! xD)
After two weeks we had a song made between 25 people! I think it's pretty something.
Even more, we have confirmation that Arisa and Backy already listened to the song (thanks to azmi) Altough I sent the links to backy and kurochan it looks like they have decided not to reply my comments for some reason... Anywaysssssssss here is the song!

Reading half-banana AGAIN, looking for interesting info for YUIkipedia, I came across this post about Teo being mentioned by YUI in YUI LOCKS.
For me, the amazing job, Shinigami band, Kevin, anas604, Teo and everybody else on that YL Collab did to accomplish that, is the most epic moment in YL history.
The first time I read that I thought "It can be done! I can reach YUI!"
They inspired me.
So I kept pushing myself to finish this project. Repeating, over and over "I can do it", "It can be done", "don't give up", "I will reach YUI", "I can do it", "keep drawing", "I can do it"
Thinking of YUPI, eating YUPI, drinking, breathing, dreaming YUPI. Being supported for all of you. I believed I could do it. I knew I could do it.

I worked like a maniac for a year and a half trying to repeat their feat. To do something even better. To be worthy of her approval.

And I failed...

I need to be honest. I WAS DYING FOR YUI's RECOGNITION!
I didn't care about a public recognition, or promotion in their website and become famous, or even a contract from Sony like some suggested (LOL). I just wanted to know from her, that she received my creation, that she knew how grateful I am. I could've been a short email or a message written by Hisashi-san on YUI's behalf in his closed group or a little little little frase on her diary, like "I got a book from a distant land", anything. Nobody would know!! only me and YUPI's readers.

What I know for sure is that Hisashi Kondo, YUI's producer, saw it, he liked it and he told me that he would give on copy to YUI. Did it happen already? Will it happen in the next few days? Did he forget? Was he liyin to make me stop spamming his group? Those questions are killing me.
I keep repeating to myself "He gave her one copy for sure!", "YUI has my book!", "We did it!"
But it's not working.
I just wanna know that YUI saw it. Anyone, please tell me that YUI saw it.

I gave my 100% and it just was not enough. I'm not good enough. I'm sorry.

Since the response was written in his closed group, I will not make it public, but he was pretty surprised by what he saw.
I still don't know if YUI got her copy. I will try to ask him later, but... I think she did?

I didn't know I can run my tracking code directly on japan. It looks like AIR-G was closed when they went to deliver it so they didn't deliver YUPI and it's stuck in the postal office since two weeks!!!!

I will ask Hisashi the biggest favor in the world. To go to pick it up, or to send someone else to pick it up for him. I know its a loooooooong shot. But I don't have any other choice.

Things are pretty ugly down here. The earthquake was 8.8 righter scale, one of the biggest in human history. Many towns dissapeared due to tsunamis.
Kouta and Dracul have reported and they're fine ;D

Thinking of that, I realized more than a year has already past sice I started drawing YUPI. I'm very happy to see that she has become a lovely character.
I didn't know I was capable of that. Actually I think I wasn't at all. But through the　days, YUPI evolved while I was getting better at drawing. Thank you all for your support and comments!

I've always been amazed by the way movies, books or music can make you feel. The way an artist can proyect a feeling on an artpiece and affect your emotions so deeply that you can burst into laughter or cry from sadness. It's like... magic!
Years ago a person commented on a drawing I did: "when I saw this, I felt very happy!" I don't remember what drawing it was, but I'm sure it wasn't a big deal. That day I realized you can touch people with the things you do, even if its not a masterpiece, you can reach people even with the smallest gesture.
It felt like a lightning!

From that day I set one of my goals in life: To make you smile a little.

After I finished my career, I wasn't drawing at all. I draw since I was a kid and I've always enjoyed doing it, but for some reason I lost motivation and stopped doing it for more than a year.

Then I met YUI...

While listening to her songs, the message of "Always do your best!", "keep forward!", "Don't give up!" made a big impression on me.
It was the first time I felt the true power of music, the power to change lifes!
Her music is the second lightning that went through my soul, heart and bones.
